The Euros 2021 is coming up and with it being a 24 team tournament, there are many teams to cover and predictions to be made. With 6 groups of 4 teams each, we will go through all the group winners from the first round and predict who will make it out of their respective group in order to get closer to a winner for euro 2021.
Group A is the toughest group in my opinion. With Italy, Switzerland and Turkey all looking like strong contenders for first place, there will be a lot of competition to get out of this group. I see these three teams being very close in skill level so it could really go any way but with some slight bias towards Switzerland to go out as their most recent performance was pretty weak against Italy when they lost 0-0 while the other two managed draws which should count for something. Still though, anything can happen in euro 2021 and that's why we're here!
Group D is the toughest group in my opinion. With Spain, Sweden and Poland all looking like strong contenders for first place, there will be a lot of competition to get out of this group - but I see these three teams being very close in skill level so it could really go any way! But with some slight bias towards Poland as they have been having their best performances recently with just one draw against Ukraine while the other two managed draws which should count for something. Still though, anything can happen at Euro 2021 and that's why we're here!
My prediction for who will be runner-up in Group A is Turkey solely because they have been playing well at home and were undefeated against Croatia this year, also managing a draw away from home which should count for something. That's why I rank them higher than Italy as it seems to me that Turkish players are more experienced on turf surfaces and so far seem like better defenders on those grounds. Plus they host the games! However, anything can happen in euro 2021 and so we'll see what happens first before making any final conclusions here.
Group B includes Belgium, Denmark, Finland and Russia. My prediction for the runner-up in Group B is Belgium. They have a very talented squad and are playing at home, which should help them to win some games. I'm not sure about their chances of making it out of this group but we'll see!
Group C includes Austria, Netherlands, North Macedonia and Ukraine. My prediction for the runner-up in Group C is Austria. They are a very talented team with some great players and they should have no problem making it out of this group, either as first or second place. I'm not sure what to think about Ukraine here but we'll see how those games turn out!
Group D includes Croatia, Czech Republic, England and Scotland. My prediction for the runner-up in Group D is Croatia. And my prediction for winner is England. They have a solid team and some talented players, but they are playing at home which might make it difficult to take out England or Scotland. I'm not sure what to think about Czech Republic here either; I've seen them play well sometimes but other times they really are inconsistent.
Group E includes Poland, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. This group is tough to predict. I think Spain are the favorites here, but they have some players who can't seem to put it together for them and when that happens they just lose games. Spain always seems like a team with potential, so I'm going to say second place in Group E goes to Spain. Sweden has been a dangerous side always but have zero finishing power in this tournament historically.
Group F includes France, Germany, Hungary and Portugal. My prediction for who will win Group A is Portugal solely because they seem to be on top form at the moment scoring 16 goals without conceding from 11 matches and with their star player Cristiano Ronaldo in high spirits (plus he is the reigning FIFA World Player of the Year).
The best Group A odds would be Portugal at +150 followed by Spain, Sweden and Croatia all at a price of +333. Here are the facts about the teams:Portugal has a +150 probability of winning Group A. Spain is at (+333); They will play Croatia, Sweden and Greece in its group matches.Sweden has a (+333) possibility to win Group E; it plays Slovakia, Spain and Poland in its first three games. Croatia is at (+400) to win Group D with the favorite being England (even though they are not favoured by many experts) .
